What is Mystic Messenger?

A dating simulator by Cheritz. The protagonist receives a strange app on their phone one day, which just so happens to be from an enigmatic character that claims they are God.

From there, she is thrown into a world filled with people who are stuck inside of phones.

Her mission is to befriend these characters and find out why they’re trapped inside their devices.

This game, while simple at first glance, has numerous routes and endings that will keep you coming back for more even after you’ve finished it!

Should I play Mystic Messenger?

If you enjoyed Choice: Stories You Play or similar stories with virtual romance elements then give Mystic Messenger a try. It’s less complex than Choice but still offers an exciting story with loveable characters and excellent voice acting!

Top 8 Best Games Like Mystic Messenger

1. Choices: Stories You Play

If you’re looking for a fantastic visual novel, look no further than Choices: Stories You Play. This app allows you to play as both male and female characters while journeying through an epic story with tons of drama and romance.

In addition to taking turns answering dialogue choices that shape your character’s personality, there are several puzzles scattered throughout each chapter that require quick thinking and strategy if you hope to proceed.

As always, make sure you save often! Gameplay is free, but stories are available via in-app purchases which can be quite pricey; fortunately most chapters can be played using a different app called Diamond Reader that is cheaper or completely free!

2. Choices: And Then Came Love

Decisions, decisions! As an adult, there is no one to tell you what to do. Sometimes it can be easy to make these decisions. You know what you want and how to get it.

But other times these decisions can be difficult: Should I call? Should I text? Can I see them again?

Even if you only have 1 or 2 years of experience playing dating sims, you probably feel at least a little bit tired of your choices not having lasting consequences on your love life.

As well as seeing repetitive bad endings from lack of decision making throughout prior games. And Then Came Love is here to change that!

3. School Girls Magical Diary

School Girls’ Magical Diary is a sexy visual novel game where you play as Hayami Yu, an ordinary student girl with a secret—she keeps notes of everything she does, for whatever reason.

Little does she know that her notebook has magic powers. Her classmates are supernatural creatures from all corners of myth and legend: there’s Jack Frost from Celtic folklore, and Snow White and Cinderella (of course) from European lore.

4. High School Romance Game: My Favorite Teacher

Why is it so addicting? I get asked that question a lot. I mean, sure, it’s probably because of how cute and romantic it is – but to be honest…I think people forget about all that stuff when they play it.

Honestly, My Favorite Teacher reminds me a lot of Mystic Messenger except instead of talking through text messages we’re using social media (Instagram and Facebook).

That’s just one part of why so many people love playing games like Mystic Messenger. Let me break down what else makes these games great!

5. Swipebuster

Swipebuster is one of my favorite spy tools for checking someone’s background.

With Swipebuster, you can get information on anyone by just their name and location – no credit card needed! This tool makes it easy to find people by name or social security number too.

Why do I love Swipebuster? It gives me a peace of mind knowing what information is out there about my future clients. In fact, I use it regularly as part of my vetting process before accepting new clients.

If you want to know if your boyfriend/girlfriend is cheating, check their text messages with Swipebuster.

If you want to know if your spouse has any criminal history or civil judgments against them, check them with Swipebuster.

If you want to know if your employee has been stealing from your company, run a background check with Swipebuster.

If you want to know if that person sitting next to you at church has any outstanding warrants against them, run a search with Swipebuster (just kidding). The possibilities are endless… 🙂

6. Doki Doki Literature Club

Doki Doki Literature Club is another free indie visual novel that puts a unique twist on dating sims.

The game isn’t long, clocking in at around two hours for a complete playthrough, but it offers some branching paths and multiple endings to extend your time with it.

If you were a fan of Eighteen: Dream World, you should also try out Doki Doki Literature Club.

However, make sure to read up on any potential plot spoilers first as they can be quite shocking! (Seriously. It’s best to go into these games completely blind.)

7. Shall We Date?: Wizardess Heart 2

The Wizening (iOS, Android) The Shall We date series is one of my favorite otome games, and Wizardess Heart 2: The Wizening is not only one of my top picks but also a great way to pass time.

It’s similar to Mystic Messenger since you can interact with a variety of people.

Keep note that there are some mature scenes so it might not be appropriate for children. So what do you say? Are you ready to become an apprentice wizard?

8. Shall We Date: Wizardess Heart 2 – Second Paragraph

If you want to try out Shall We Date: Wizardess Heart 2 – Second Paragraph, but prefer something a little more interactive, then why not check out Shall We Date: Magically Revived (iOS and Android).

This game is designed for women and men, which gives a chance for everyone to play.

It’s very similar to other versions, so fans will know what they are getting into. Of course, if you don’t like it there is an option to purchase another version!

Once again, I hope you enjoyed my list of games like Mystic Messenger. Don’t forget that these can be played on iOS or Android devices!
